Two excellent stays at this hotel

We were greeted warmly by the hotel staff and shown our rooms. There were three of us staying and our rooms were charming and spacious in this historic, inviting hotel. It was quiet and the rooms were very clean. The hotel grounds are lush with glorious plantings creating a sense of privacy at every turn. The location of the hotel is ideal with just a short walk to Lake Chapala and the park. A convenience store to purchase necessities is right on the corner. We did not opt for the breakfast at this B&B, so cannot comment on that. I will definitely stay again when I return.

Room Tip: My room was second floor, very quiet and private

“Authentic, Historic and Lovely B&B”

Upon entering the property you feel that you are truly in Mexico and not some cookie cutter hotel dropped in the middle of another country. The grounds are clean and gorgeous with an abundance of tropical plants, Mayan statutes, and a welcoming pool. The different named rooms of which I toured are all interesting and unique. Our room was extremely clean, spacious, and relaxing. QQ is conveniently located walking distance to the lakefront walk (Chapala’s Malecon) and the main shopping street. The owner Robert is extremely gracious and engaging. I will absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it for anyone who is looking for a relaxing and beautiful accommodation. FYI: the writer and poet DH Lawrence wrote his book “The Plumed Serpent” while staying at this property. As mentioned in another review, a deposit is required which is a standard practice and not unique to this property. Please contact me via if you need any more information about my recent enjoyable stay.

“After many visits to B. & B.’s and owning one ourselves we have agreed that our experience at QQ has been unsurpassed. The gracious hosts, gourmet breakfasts, luxurious rooms, lush tropical gardens and ideal location combine to make QQ definitely a 5 star B.& B.”

“Upon arriving at the QQ, after a long voyage from Canada, my friend and I were warmly greeted by the owners Rob and Lori Cracknell. We stepped into a tropical oasis of palm trees, various flowering plants, large statues, tinkling fountains; and sculptures seen peaking out through palm fronds. There were adornments on the walls as well as paintings by Rob himself. Our accommodation left nothing to be desired. Breakfasts were beautifully presented, varied and plentiful. Help was always available from this handsome Australian couple. “Where is the market?” or “How do I say this in Spanish?” so I’m saying “Muchas Gracias” to the Cracknells for a memorable holiday.”

“Although I totally trusted the recommendation to stay at QQ from my friends who live in Ajijic, this beautiful B&B deserves more than “full marks”. Our initial emails were answered promptly, politely, and full of friendliness. Owners Rob & Lorri have been constantly gracious and helpful. They go the extra mile. If you desire peace, serenity, heavenly gardens, wonderful rooms, top notch breakfast, perfect weather, handy location, QQ is your best choice.”

“Our wedding at QQ was a memorable experience, we will remember this weekend forever and recommend QQ to our friends.”

“We have returned to QQ for the second time, staying 10 nights. Now have decided to buy property at lakeside, however it will be hard to replace the ambiance of “QQ”.”

“We stayed in Tlaquepaque for three nights before coming to “QQ”. It was nice there but it couldn’t hold a candle to QQ and its exquisite gardens.”
